Emily Monkman
Registered Massage Therapist
Emily Monkman is a registered massage therapist originally from Kamloops, BC. She grew up spending much of her time outdoors. Winters were spent skiing at Sun Peaks, and in the summer she hiked and camped throughout BC. Emily moved to Kelowna to pursue her education in the Vancouver Career College Massage Therapy Program and graduated in 2018. Since then she has been working in a multidisciplinary clinic in Kelowna, gaining valuable experience, mentorship, and community volunteering opportunities.
During treatment, Emily focuses her patient-centred care by tailoring each treatment to suit the individual. She uses a variety of techniques including trigger point release, myofascial release, active and passive stretching, and joint mobilization to help her patients return to their personal best.
Emily has experience treating a number of conditions including: Back pain, disc injuries, sprains and strains, whiplash and Motor Vehicle Accidents (ICBC), headaches, postural imbalances, sports injuries, and pregnancy and postpartum care.
Emily is also education-focused, with future plans to complete her Bachelor of Health Science Degree; and take upper level courses in prenatal and postnatal care.
In her free time Emily loves to travel, hit the slopes at Sun Peaks, or explore local eats! Emily is excited to be back in Kamloops again, and is happy to be able to work and raise her family in her beautiful hometown.
